The Torino 2033 logo

The Turin 2033 logo is the result of a truly participative process: a dialogue between professional creativity and youthful vision.

It is the fruit of a collaboration between the team at Armando Testa and the energy of 80 students from the Liceo Artistico Cottini, the IIS Bodoni-Paravia and the CNOS-FAP Valdocco – together with the precious contribution of the pupils of the Sacro Cuore Primary School, who were involved in the initial phase of the project. The logo portrays a city that cherishes its traditions whilst drawing inspiration from the perspective of younger generations.

The symbol was unveiled to students involved in the creative process at a special presentation: an exciting gathering at Armando Testa’s historic headquarters attended by representatives from the Education and Youth Policy Departments who strongly championed this participatory process. Subsequently, the logo was officially unveiled to the public during the St John’s day celebrations, as part of a magnificent event involving the whole city.

To crown the occasion, the logo was projected onto the Mole Antonelliana, Turin’s iconic landmark, symbolically marking the beginning of the journey towards Turin 2033. What we have is a logo that does more than simply represent. It invites us to take a closer look. At its centre is a shape resembling a glowing eye: the curious and attentive gaze of a city that desires at the same time to see and to be seen.

Within the eye is a yellow spark – the fruit of a childlike stroke – lighting up the future. A symbol that evokes the star of the Mole Antonelliana as well as those of the European Union, but that equally projects a desire to be part of something greater, without losing one’s own uniqueness. The hues – bright blue and vibrant yellow – offer a contemporary reinterpretation of the city’s colours, making them bolder, more vivid and contemporary.

The result is a visual identity reflecting the perspective of younger generations. For a Turin that’s fresh, open and ready to change its outlook.
