European Capital of Culture FULL VIDEO Turin 2033 Candidate City

A new energy is pulsing through Turin.

Turin has begun its journey towards 2033. Our candidacy for European Capital of Culture stems from a desire to look to the future without forgetting the roots that have made our city unique. It’s not simply a question of promoting the rich cultural heritage and panoply of artistic expression that distinguish the city, but of creating a laboratory for ideas, creativity and experimentation where tradition and innovation can join forces to imagine possible new futures.

The Turin 2033 Logo

The Turin 2033 logo is the result of a truly participative process: a dialogue between professional creativity and youthful vision. It is the fruit of a collaboration between the creative team at Armando Testa and the energy of 80 students from Liceo Artistico Cottini, IIS Bodoni-Paravia and CNOS-FAP Valdocco – together with the precious contribution of the pupils of Sacro Cuore Primary School, who were involved in the initial phase of the project. The logo portrays a city that cherishes its traditions while drawing inspiration from the perspective of younger generations.

Step by step, together we are building Turin’s future.

The journey of our volunteers doesn’t begin at the finishing line: it starts now!

The volunteers

Volunteering has always been an integral part of what makes Turin special.

The capital of Piedmont has always stood out for its outstanding civic engagement and the willingness of its inhabitants to get involved in community work. Indeed, during the 2025 Neighbours’ Day, over 200 volunteers from the GxT and Senior Civico projects were enthusiastic participants in the launch of the “Legami Europei” (European Ties) project.
Volunteering for Turin’s application to become European Capital of Culture 2033 means playing a leading role in a shared European project: it’s not just a question helping out in organizing a programme of events but of working together to build a process that places culture at the heart of social inclusion.
For this reason, a number of volunteer training courses have kicked off at the very beginning of the candidacy drive: a programme that will offer tools, experiences and opportunities for both personal and collective growth. Volunteers will have the chance to take part in organizing meetings, workshops and co-creation sessions that will be open to the whole city – residents, young people, creative workers and institutions – giving real concrete expression to the values of collaboration and participative planning that will guide Turin on its journey towards 2033.

Our volunteers’ journey doesn’t just begin at the finishing line: it starts now!
