Travelling Light Towards the Future
As part of the Turin International Book Fair, a discussion entitled “Travelling Light Towards the Future” took place on Friday May 16th at 3.30 pm, organised by the City of Turin’s Department of Culture, the Democracy Biennale and the Turin Foundation for Culture.
The discussion featured Jeffrey Schnapp, historian, designer and director of metaLAB (at) Harvard, and Agostino Riitano, director of Turin’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2033. Drawing on questions raised by participants at the Future Democracy Campus, the two speakers discussed cultural and technological transformations that lie ahead in the coming years, reflecting on the role of younger generations in building the future.
Jeffrey Schnapp, a leading figure in transdisciplinary research and digital humanities, has published over 25 books and 200 essays. His work focuses on the intersection of media, technology, architecture and design.
