MONDIACULT 2025 – The UNESCO World Conference on Cultural Policies was held in Barcelona from September 29th to October 1st. Over 150 Member States, thousands of delegates, institutions and cultural organisations from around the world came together to draft the new global agenda for culture.
At the heart of the conference was the recognition of culture as an autonomous pillar for sustainable development, explored through six main themes and two transversal areas: cultural rights, digitalisation, climate crisis, education, creative economy, heritage, culture for peace, artificial intelligence and culture. TO33 took part through its director, Agostino Riitano, who underlined Turin’s commitment to this international dialogue, with its journey towards European Capital of Culture 2033 serving as an example of a city that combines culture, innovation and active citizenship.
