During Artissima 2025, we gave a talk entitled “Art in Present-Day Transitions”, a presentation and discussion focusing on the role of art in an era marked by profound transformations.
The talk provided a fruitful space of reflection for those who believe in art’s capacity to help shape the future, exploring the ways in which our cultural context is rapidly changing and how art, besides representing reality, can truly become a vibrant laboratory of ideas: a language capable of interpreting contemporary complexities and imagining future scenarios.
The panel focused on the relationship between artistic practices, communities and systemic change, taking Turin’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2033 as its starting point. The debate saw the participation of Mara Loro (Director of Hangar Piemonte), Davide Quadrio (Director of MAO – Museum of Oriental Art), Agostino Riitano (Director of Turin’s candidacy for European Capital of Culture 2033) and Marco Zappalorto (Head of OGR International Strategy and Partnerships).
